Version 2.1 — Effective 27 July 2026
Tisewere is a skill-and-entertainment platform for traditional and casual games. We do not offer wagering, betting, or cash prizes of any kind — see Section 5.
These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a binding agreement between you and Tisewere Limited, a private limited company incorporated in Malawi under the Companies Act (Cap. 46:03) with registration number COY-66QTY5J ("Tisewere", "we", "us", "our"). They govern your access to and use of tisewere.com, our mobile and web applications, and all related games, features, and services (together, the "Service").
By creating an account, using a guest session, or otherwise accessing the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. If you are accessing a third-party game hosted or embedded through the Service, that game's own terms may also apply — we will link to them where relevant.
You must be at least 13 years old to create an account or use the Service. Real-money purchases, wagering, cash-out, peer Zude transfers, and open (free-text) chat with other players are restricted to users 18 and older — accounts aged 13 to 17 can browse and play free-to-play games, with chat limited to a fixed set of preset messages. By using the Service you represent that you meet the applicable age requirement above and, if you are under 18, that a parent or guardian is aware of and consents to your use of the Service. We may ask you to verify your age or identity at any time, and may suspend your account until you do.
You may only hold one account per person. Creating multiple accounts to claim signup bonuses, referral rewards, guest starter balances, streak rewards, or other promotional rewards more than once is prohibited and may result in forfeiture of the associated balance and termination of all linked accounts.
You are responsible for ensuring your use of the Service complies with the law that applies to you wherever you are located, in addition to Malawian law.
You can use the Service as a registered user — by email and password, by signing in with Google or Facebook, or by verifying a WhatsApp number — or as a guest. Guest accounts are temporary, have limited functionality (see Section 4), and can be converted to a full account at any time without losing progress.
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your password and for all activity on your account, whether or not you authorised it. Do not share your login details with anyone. Notify us immediately at hello@tisewere.com if you suspect unauthorized use of your account. We are not liable for losses caused by someone else using your account with your login details, but we will help investigate genuine unauthorised access.
Guest accounts cannot join tournaments, send or request Zude to/from other players, refer other users for a bonus, register as a developer, or join a squad or shop for cosmetic items. These restrictions exist to prevent abuse of free starter balances and referral bonuses. We may prompt you to convert your guest account to a full account before allowing a restricted action. A guest account you never convert and stop using may be deleted along with its balance and progress — see our Privacy Policy for retention details.
Tisewere exists to keep traditional and community games — games like Bawo and Makhadi — alive for a new generation, alongside original casual games, by making them easy to play against real opponents on a phone. It is a skill-and-entertainment platform, not a gambling service, and it does not require a gambling licence to operate.
We do not offer cash prizes, wagering, or betting of any kind. Some games can be entered with a Zude entry fee (Section 8), but winning a match or tournament never pays out cash or a cash equivalent. Instead, winners earn experience points (XP), account levels, achievements, and leaderboard position — recognition and progress within the Service, with no cash value and no cash redemption. Zude itself (Section 6) also has no cash value and can never be withdrawn, cashed out, or exchanged for money, regardless of how it was earned or how a match ended.
If this ever changes for any game or event, we will update these Terms, describe the change plainly before it takes effect, and give you the notice required under Section 24 — we will not make that change silently.
Zude is Tisewere's in-Service currency. It is a limited, revocable licence to use in-Service features — not property, not a financial product, security, deposit, e-money, or cryptocurrency, and not redeemable or exchangeable for money under any circumstances. Zude balances can be adjusted, corrected, or revoked by us for the reasons set out in these Terms (for example, fraud, chargebacks, abuse of a promotion, or a pricing/economy error).
You can acquire Zude by:
You can spend Zude on game entry fees (Section 8), shop items, and cosmetics (Section 9). Zude has no expiry date, but an inactive account may still be deleted under our data retention policy, at which point any remaining balance is also removed.
Full (non-guest) accounts can send Zude to, or request Zude from, other Tisewere players — for example, to split a squad's tournament entry or send a friend a gift. This is a convenience feature between real players you know, not a way to convert Zude to cash or to move value off the platform. You agree not to:
We may reverse a transfer, decline a request, or suspend transfer access on an account where we reasonably suspect abuse of this feature.
Some games let you create or join a room with a Zude entry fee. Entry fees from a room are pooled and, when the room resolves, either refunded (for example, if a match cannot start, is cancelled, or ends in circumstances we determine warrant a refund) or applied toward the outcomes in Section 5 — never paid out as a cash-equivalent prize. If you forfeit a match in progress or fail to reconnect within the grace period after a disconnect, our disconnect and reconnection rules (shown in-app) determine how the room is resolved, which may include your opponent being awarded the win.
You agree to play fairly. In addition to Section 16's conduct rules, you specifically agree not to play against yourself using multiple accounts or devices, collude with an opponent to manipulate a result, or otherwise interfere with a room, match, or tournament's fair outcome. We run automated and manual checks for this and may void a result, reverse an entry-fee payout, or take the account actions described in Section 23 where we reasonably believe this section has been breached.
The Tisewere shop offers Zude packs, cosmetic items (like avatars and profile decorations), consumables, and physical merchandise, priced in Zude or real money as shown at checkout.
Digital items (Zude packs, cosmetics, consumables) are licensed to you for use within the Service on the same non-transferable, revocable basis as Zude itself, and are credited to your account as soon as payment is confirmed.
Physical merchandise is fulfilled by shipping to an address you provide, or by pickup at a branch you select at checkout. Delivery times shown at checkout are estimates, not guarantees; risk in a shipped item passes to you on handover to the courier. If an item you ordered is out of stock or discontinued after you paid, we will offer a replacement, store credit, or a refund of the amount paid for that item, at your choice.
Real-money payments on Tisewere are processed by Paychangu, a licensed third-party payment service provider. We do not store your full card or mobile-money credentials. By making a payment you also agree to Paychangu's applicable terms.
All sales of Zude and shop items are final once the Zude or item has been credited to your account, except where required otherwise by Malawian consumer protection law, or where we determine in our discretion that a refund is appropriate (for example, a duplicate charge, a failed delivery, or a technical error). To request a refund, email hello@tisewere.com with your transaction reference.
Only spend what you can comfortably afford, and only for entertainment. If you feel you are spending more time or money on Tisewere than you intend to, contact us at hello@tisewere.com and we will help set a spending limit on your account or pause it for a period you choose. We may also apply our own limits to any account at our discretion, as a general player-protection measure.
Where enabled, Watch & Earn lets you choose to watch a short ad in exchange for a small Zude reward. Watching is always optional, rewards are credited after the ad genuinely completes, and we may limit how often you can claim a reward. Using automation, emulators, or any method to claim Watch & Earn rewards without a person actually viewing the ad is prohibited and may result in forfeiture of the reward and the account actions described in Section 23.
Merchants may separately submit their own advertising content for review and, once approved and funded, for display to players who opt in to view it. We review submissions before they go live but do not endorse any advertiser or the accuracy of their claims. We may reject, suspend, or remove any advertisement at our discretion, including after it has started running, without a refund of the unused portion of a merchant's budget except where we determine that is appropriate. If you believe an advertisement on Tisewere infringes your rights or violates the law, email hello@tisewere.com with the details and we will investigate.
Squads are persistent groups you can form with other players to queue for team matches, compete in squad leaderboards, and chat. The squad's captain can manage membership and disband the squad; we may also step in to rename, disband, or otherwise moderate a squad whose name, tag, or description breaches Section 16.
Tournaments may be organised by us or, where the feature is enabled, by other players. An organiser can set an entry fee, a schedule, and (consistent with Section 5) non-cash prize tiers such as XP or Zude that has no cash value. We can cancel a tournament and refund entry fees at any time — for example, if it doesn't reach the minimum number of entrants, if we identify a fairness problem, or if the organiser breaches these Terms.
Leaderboards, achievements, and levels reflect account activity on the Service. We may reset a leaderboard at the start of a new period (for example, weekly), correct an entry we determine was achieved unfairly, or adjust the achievements and levels system at our discretion.
We may offer daily login streaks, referral bonuses for inviting a friend who creates an account, and other one-time or recurring rewards. Unless stated otherwise when offered, each reward may only be claimed once per account, and referral rewards require the referred account to be a genuine new player, not an account you or the referred person already controls. We may withhold or reclaim a reward, and take the account actions described in Section 23, where we reasonably believe a reward was obtained through multiple accounts, fake referrals, or other abuse.
Registered developers can submit their own games to Tisewere through our developer tools and SDK for review. We grant you the ability to publish a game to the Service under these Terms; you retain ownership of your game's own code and assets, but you grant us a worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, run, display, and promote your game as part of the Service for as long as it remains published, plus a copy for our own testing, archival, and preservation purposes even after removal.
A published game must comply with Section 16, must not include real-money wagering, gambling, or cash prizes of its own (Section 5 applies platform-wide), and must not collect or process player data outside of what our SDK provides for. Where a game earns entry-fee revenue, we share a percentage with the developer, shown in your developer dashboard at the time — we may change this split for future revenue with reasonable prior notice to affected developers. We may reject, suspend, or remove any submitted game from the Service at our discretion, including one already live, for a breach of these Terms, a security or fairness issue, or low/no engagement over a sustained period.
"User Content" means anything you submit to the Service — your profile picture and bio, a username or squad name, in-game or squad chat messages, an ad creative you submit as a merchant, a game you submit as a developer, or anything else you upload, post, or transmit. You keep ownership of your User Content, but you grant us a worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, display, distribute, and create derivative works of it as needed to operate and promote the Service, and you confirm you have the right to grant that licence.
You agree that your User Content, and your conduct on the Service, will not:
We moderate the Service by automated and human means. We may remove User Content, mute or restrict chat, and take the account actions described in Section 23 where we reasonably believe this section has been breached. We don't control everything other players post and can't guarantee all User Content complies with this section — report anything that doesn't to hello@tisewere.com.
Tisewere and its licensors own all rights in the Service, including its software, design, game assets, and branding, other than User Content and games published by developers under Section 15. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the Service for personal, non-commercial entertainment purposes. You may not reverse-engineer, decompile, or scrape the Service, or use its content outside the Service, except as this section or Section 15 expressly allows.
You can sign in and find friends using Google and Facebook. If you use Facebook's "Find Facebook friends" feature, you grant permission directly to Facebook for us to read your friend list via Facebook's own consent screen — we never see or store your Facebook access token, only the resulting list of Facebook IDs, which we match against existing Tisewere accounts. See our Privacy Policy for details on what we store.
We may add, change, or remove a game or feature at any time. If we permanently remove a game you can no longer play, any Zude you spent specifically to enter a room for that game which never resolved will be refunded to your platform-wide Zude balance — because Zude is shared across the whole Service rather than tied to one game, removing a single game does not affect your overall balance or your progress in other games.
If we ever decide to discontinue the Service as a whole, we will give you reasonable advance notice by email or in-app announcement and explain what happens to any real money you are owed at that point.
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, OR THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE. WE DO NOT GUARANTEE THAT ANY MATCH OR TOURNAMENT OUTCOME IS FREE OF SOFTWARE ERROR, THOUGH WE TAKE REASONABLE STEPS TO OPERATE OUR GAMES FAIRLY AND TO CORRECT ERRORS WE IDENTIFY. WE ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR A THIRD-PARTY DEVELOPER'S GAME, OTHER THAN OUR OWN REVIEW AND REMOVAL RIGHTS UNDER SECTION 15.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY MALAWIAN LAW, TISEWERE LIMITED WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING FROM THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN REAL MONEY IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM AROSE, OR (B) MK 50,000. NOTHING IN THESE TERMS EXCLUDES LIABILITY THAT CANNOT BE EXCLUDED UNDER MALAWIAN LAW.
You agree to indemnify and hold Tisewere Limited, its officers, employees, and agents harmless from any claim, loss, or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your breach of these Terms, your misuse of the Service, or User Content you submit (including a game you submit as a developer or an ad creative you submit as a merchant).
We may suspend or terminate your account at any time for violation of these Terms, for suspected fraud or financial crime, or as required by law or a competent authority. You may close your account at any time by contacting us. On termination for cause, we may withhold or forfeit any Zude balance associated with the violation; on a voluntary close of account in good standing, we will process any real-money amount you are legitimately owed in accordance with our payments process. Because Zude has no cash value (Section 6), a balance that isn't forfeited for cause simply lapses when an account closes rather than being paid out.
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make a material change, we will notify you (for example, by email or an in-app notice) before it takes effect. Continued use of the Service after a change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. The version number and effective date at the top of this page always reflect the current version.
Governing law and venue. These Terms are governed by the laws of Malawi. Any dispute not resolved informally will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Malawi sitting at Blantyre.
Force majeure. We are not liable for any failure or delay caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including internet or power outages, third-party service failures (including our payment processor), or acts of government.
Assignment. You may not assign or transfer your rights or obligations under these Terms. We may assign these Terms in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of all or substantially all of our assets, and will notify you if we do.
No waiver. If we do not enforce a right under these Terms, that does not stop us from enforcing it later.
Severability. If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full effect.
Entire agreement. These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and Tisewere Limited regarding the Service.
